In the general direction of John McLaughlin and Zakir Hussain's "Shakti" group, featuring the South Indian drum masters Subash Chandran (ghatam, konnokol) and Ganesh Kumar (kanjira) along with the superb bass of Steve Zerlin and Jorge Zamorano guitar.
